Ranscombe House.     ABOUT TWO HUNDRED YEARS AGO  Ranscombe House was built by an old sea captain. He built his house so that his years of leisure could be spent high up on the hill looking over the sea and its ships and the wooded slopes of Torquay beyond the bay. Nearby he wanted his lawn and garden.                                                                       Then the comfort of a well-built house, large rooms simply planned and those conveniences that a man enjoys in his retirement. Perhaps most of all he wanted his views so that a last glimpse of the sea with the twinkling lights of vessels could be his at dusk and the clean fresh breeze fill him at dawn.                                                                                           Assuredly he built well, and enjoyed his well earned pleasures to the full. For us, they are but mellowed by the passing of two centuries.

This 9 bedroom guest house is set in its own grounds providing you with car parking and a lawned garden in which to relax and experience peace and tranquility, just a five minute walk from the bustling port of Brixham.
